WAKE FOREST GARDEN CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS  

The Wake Forest Garden Club has created two scholarships to encourage the local youth of Wake Forest to continue the study of plants in our environment and their impact on our lives and the planet. Two recipients, one senior student from Wake Forest High School and one senior student from Heritage High School, who is enrolled in classes in the horticulture program that includes courses in plant science and plant production, will be awarded a scholarship, in the amount of $1500, based on academic achievements and extracurricular accomplishments. 

Selection Criteria

·  Be a Wake Forest High School or Heritage High School student and enrolled in classes in the horticulture program that includes courses in plant science and plant production. The program also includes participation in the Wake Forest High School Agricultural Education Department's FFA. 

·  Be a graduating senior in good standing with a “B” average or higher

·  Have applied to or been accepted to a college program (trade/ technical/ community/4 year college or undergraduate) leading to a career in plant science or plant production.

Application Criteria:

·  Provide name, address, email address and name of the high school currently attending. Please us the "Get Started" button below.

·  Provide a descriptive statement outlining the chosen field of study, proposed school and reasons for vocational/professional choice.  Limited to one (1) page written by the student.

·  Two (2) letters of recommendation.

·  Submit applications to gardenclubwakeforest@gmail.com.

The deadline to submit the completed application is April 17, 2025.  Only complete applications will be considered. No application will be considered after the due date.

Winners will be chosen by the Wake Forest Garden Club Scholarship Committee from applications submitted.  Monies will be paid directly to the school or vocational program the student will be attending to be applied directly toward the tuition costs.
